On October 22, 2026, the Department of Justice’s U.S. Trustee Program (USTP) notified the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts (AOUSC) that trustees will receive additional compensation for cases filed under chapter 7 or converted to chapter 7 in the fiscal year ending September 30, 2026 (FY 2026). These payments are made in accordance with the Bankruptcy Administration Improvement Act of 2020 (BAIA).
