A federal jury convicted Toan Chu for failing to register as a sex offender within Indian Country. Chu, a Vietnamese national, had convictions from 1992 out of Alameda County, California, for Rape by Force in Concert with Another in the Commission of Kidnapping, Forcible Oral Copulation of a Minor in Commission of Kidnapping, and Assault During Sodomy in the Commission of Kidnapping.
